Barne Barton Hoardings

Clarion

Young residents have brightened up the Barne Barton regeneration site in Plymouth, as part of a Community Ambassadors project. The young artists spent the summer creating artworks for display.

Fifteen of the young artists came to see their work installed onto the hoardings that surrounds the works site, bringing colour and creativity, as these pictures show. This is the first stage of a wider community project planned for when building work starts in a few months. Tamar View Community Complex have been supporting children and young people in Barne Barton for a number of years through the youth activities they deliver. Following a recent application to Clarion Futures, they have been awarded a grant by the #iwill Fund, a joint fund from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, and The National Lottery Community Fund that supports youth social action projects across England. This funding will enable Tamar View to continue both the Mini Community Ambassador (for children aged 8-11) and the Community Ambassadors (11 – 20yrs) programmes for a further 12 months.
