Community involvement

Find out what we offer and how you can get involved.

Building stronger communities, one step at a time

Our purpose goes beyond providing homes. We work with organisations to deliver various services that create thriving, connected and empowered communities you can feel proud to be a part of.

Ways to get involved

Community centres

Alongside our partners, we support 50 thriving community centres, based across the country and in the heart of our communities. Many play a crucial role as a local hub for much-needed neighbourhood services, as well as a place you can take up new hobbies, enjoy activities, social events, and meet your neighbours or forge new friendships.

During the cold winter months, our community centres also host Warm Spaces, which are welcoming places where you can be comfortable and relax with a hot drink in a friendly environment, all free of charge.

Join our lively community groups and networks

Our nationwide community groups empower you to have your say, connect with others who have similar interests, and make a difference to our communities across the country. Whether it is supporting LGBTQ+ issues, giving a voice to residents over the age of 55, or supporting people with a disability, help us to promote change and celebrate diversity and inclusion by taking part.

Blaze a trail - our ambassador programmes

For our younger residents, we offer an exciting opportunity to get involved in our two life-enriching ambassador programmes: National Ambassadors and Community Ambassadors.

These programmes help participants to become a force for good on either a national scale or within their local community. It also helps to boost confidence, unlock a young person’s potential, and develop invaluable skills for the future.

Connecting residents across generations

We bridge the gap between our older and younger residents through a range of initiatives and intergenerational activities and projects. This helps to create connected, supportive communities that team up to tackle local issues and enhance wellbeing together.

Bring your project to life with our community and digital grants

We provide hundreds of thousands of pounds in grants to support a wide variety of projects that help enhance the lives of our residents. We want to help you flourish as part of vibrant, connected, and sustainable community, and we do this by investing in community gardens and sports activities, youth clubs, and music and dance workshops.

We also award grants for projects or activities that help residents and the wider community to develop digital skills and get online. These projects help residents use and benefit from the internet safely and with confidence.
