Wendy's story
After moving to Penge two years ago, Wendy was determined to make positive changes to her life.
Living with bipolar disorder, Wendy faces daily challenges and combined with no formal qualifications, work experience, or access to a phone or internet, this mix resulted in low confidence and limited opportunities for her to achieve independence.
Set on turning her life around, Wendy saw a glimmer of hope when she received a letter about the JobsPlus programme.
She reached out to her local branch for guidance, aiming to get her foot on the job’s ladder.
“When I walked in, I was very nervous, but I was happy by the end of my appointment. I felt like I was listened to, and now, working with the team, I feel so proud of myself. I have achieved so much in a short period of time, and I have also been able to reduce my medication due to all the improvements I have made.
“Thank you so much for everything; I now can look forward to my future and continue accessing support.”
