The Housing Ombudsman is inviting residents to apply to join its resident panel and contribute to its work in improving residents’ lives through landlords’ services.
As a member of the panel, residents will be invited to share experiences and suggest improvements through regular meetings and virtual discussions with the Ombudsman.
Residents will also be asked to feedback on consultations through surveys and learn more about the role of the Ombudsman.
Applications are open now and will close on Tuesday 30 April 2024.
To apply, applicants do not need any previous experience as a scrutiny panel member or have used the Ombudsman before.
The panel will be made up of residents living in all types of social housing, including residents or leaseholders of local authorities, housing associations and co-operative landlords.
This is an exciting opportunity for residents to be part of the Ombudsman’s vision to deliver a positive, complaint handling culture, across the sector and make sure residents’ views are heard.
The current panel was appointed in March 2021 on a three year term and has been an invaluable asset in the work of the Ombudsman and provided feedback on the introduction of the Complaint Handling Code, annual business plans and various projects to improve accessibility and awareness raising of the service.
