Fatou Drammeh, a Clarion resident and mum of two, signed up to Love London Working in November 2017 while in the final year of her health and social care degree.
After struggling with her health for years, she met with an employment officer from Clarion Futures, gained a housing placement and went on to find permanent work at Clarion Housing.
“In 1998, I was diagnosed with mitral valve replacement, a serious heart condition. It meant I had to have surgery and be on lifelong medication. It affected my day-to-day life, but gradually I started to get my life back.
“After having two children and completing my degree, I realised that I was wasting time and needed to find work and begin my career.
I want to thank Clarion Futures for everything they have done to support me – I'm excited for the future.

“I specifically wanted to work in housing, so I found out about the support Clarion Futures offered and made an appointment. I met Keisha and she was amazing from day one. She looked at my cv, gave me advice and reassured me she was going to do everything she could to make it happen.
“After eventually gaining work as an apprentice, I went on to get a permanent position working as a customer service advisor.
“I love my job. No two days are the same and Clarion Housing does everything in their power to put their staff and customers at the heart of the business.
“I recently found out that I have a second valve leaking and have got fluid on my lungs. But, even with all my health struggles, I feel so proud to be working and look forward to getting ready in the morning, stepping out and going to work at Clarion – it’s a great place to work.
“Whenever I’m under the weather and things are tough, I think of Keisha and within no time, I’m up, putting on my shoes and I’m ready to go.
“I want to thank Clarion Futures, and particularly Keisha, for everything they have done to support me – I’m excited for the future.”
